Qlikview - irregular loading time

Hi,

Hope you can help out with the following issue!

In order to load our data into QlikView we are extracting and tranforming it from our database. Lately, we've noticed that the time it takes for the ‘transformer’ to load is very irregular. For some of the increased loading times is an explanation - such as an growth in the amount of data that load in QV on a Monday or in case changes were made– but lately we can’t seem to find the reason why the loading time has been increased.

Please find below a graph with the load time per day. As you can see as of the 17th of July the duration increased and as of the 28th of August the duration is very irregular even though no changes were made. Please find attached the log of ’06-09-2017’(when needed). The last change we made to the file was on the 4th of July and as you can see this did not immediately cause any trouble regarding the loading time(added +-10 minutes).

Do you know what other factors could cause this or can you find any specific clues in the log that could clarify this?

  1. Would be great if you could help out   Thanks a lot!

Eva

Are you just loading a single table from your source DBMS or are you using more tables and potentially more complex transformations? You could find more information about the time needed for any individual operation in the document log.

Besides this, the load on the QV server as well as the load of the DBMS and the network connection can play a role when it comes to spikes in load duration. Are you running any loads in parallel?

Hi Eva,

I have deleted the other thread that was a duplicate of this one. In the future, please be mindful not to post the same questions multiple times, as it becomes difficult to keep track of responses on multiple threads. If you accidentally post a question twice, you can delete one of them by following the steps listed here:  Qlik Community Tip: How to Delete a Post

It would be easier if you attach your transformation qvw document

Thanks, the first step will be to check if we can get more (useful) information when we change the settings in the server/document log and will let you know if this was the solution.

Thanks a lot, hope this will provide us with more information!

Will check the options regarding the server/document log and if that will not provide any solutions I will attach the document.

Thanks and hope to have a solution/update soon.
