Authentication in Rest connection in qliksense cloud business

    Deepa Mishra

      Hi All,

I am using qliksense cloud business to fetch the data from ORACLE by using Rest Connector.

In  URL we are using Public IP so that we are able to generate connection in cloud but there is a problem that Any body can access this URL from any where and fetch the data, that is not safe .

Can we give Authentication for this ,means if  any body wants to access this URL then he/she has to give the User ID  and Password to access the data.

Is it possible in network level or in Data level?

Hello Deepa - thanks for your question, please check out this document in our on-line help:

          http://help.qlik.com/en-US/sense-cloud/Subsystems/CloudHub/Content/LoadData/connect-data-sources.htm

This will show you the IP addresses / DNS names you can whitelist in your environment to prevent nu-authorized access to your data source from any other client.

There are few things to consider - remember Qlik access the data on load only - which is done on demand using a button in the data manager - or when scheduled. Once the data is loaded into the app - it becomes part of the app - and no longer has a live connection to the underlying source (unless reloaded)

So by whitelisting the IPs / DNS names you are preventing other outside access - and only allowing Qlik Sense Cloud to access that URL.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
