# Sum of Rows

Hi Community

I have rows of data for an item but from different sales orders

Since the item description is the same, i want one line (in a straight or pivot table)  that will give me the a total sum for this item

The correct quantity for the above should be 36

BOMITEM_Description                    TOTALQUANTITY

Zipper Bag                                  36

• ###### Re: Sum of Rows

expression as

= Sum(BOMITEMQty)

• ###### Re: Sum of Rows

Thanks Vishwarath, unfortunately i still get a 6

• ###### Re: Sum of Rows

Hi,

sum(TOTAL BOMITEMQty)

• ###### Re: Sum of Rows

Tried it, thanks, but still getting a 6 instead of 36

• ###### Re: Sum of Rows

Just use two text box:

left text box =GetFieldSelections (BOMITEM_Description)
right text box= sum(BOMITEMQty)

• ###### Re: Sum of Rows

Thanks Jean, Description pulls correctly but sum(BOMITEMQty) gives a 6

• ###### Re: Sum of Rows

And if you try with :    sum( AGGR(sum(BOMITEMQty),Document_No) )

• ###### Re: Sum of Rows

Thank you very much @  jean-baptiste, the Aggregation function. Not only on the Text Object, but also on the Straight and Pivot tables

• ###### Re: Sum of Rows

Where are you trying this?

• ###### Re: Sum of Rows

All the above suggestions, i have tried on a straight table. Jean's one, i have tried on a Text Object

• ###### Re: Sum of Rows

If you have only one dimension and that dimension used for aggr in measure you will always get 6.00

Use document number field also within the aggregation to work

• ###### Re: Sum of Rows

sum( AGGR(sum(BOMITEMQty),[Document No_]) ) as suggested by @ Jean-Baptiste RENAULTworked

Thank you all for your help.
