Separate server for file storage only?

We have a multi-node site with shared persistent. The central node is currently having some kinds of issues, stop working randomly. We noticed that sometimes the network bandwidth was maxed up, showing 100% Network utilization. We are thinking maybe we can create another server and move the file storage to it. The new server will just be using for file storage.. Do we still need to install Qlik Sense on it?

You don't indicate what version you are using, I believe it was starting with 2017 that Qlik Sense allows you to select a location for the file store and it would not need Qlik Sense installed; could be a NAS location.
