Hi all,
Trying to find a solution for a group of employees disconnecting from QlikView Server after about 5-10 minutes.
Situation:
- Server = QV 11.2 SR17
- Desktop = QV 11.2 SR7
Steps:
Open desktop
Select op Open in Server
Open document
Switch sheet
Make a selection
... and then not touch QlikView (in any way) by that user for 5-10 minutes.
The desktop gives a popup stating "Server communication lost, closing document!".
Server log shows "Socket closed by client".
I checked the "Maximum Total Session Time" in the QVW:
Not enabled, so not applicable.
I checked the "Possible Session Timeout" in QVS:
2700 seconds, so 45 minutes, so does not explain time out after 5-10 minutes.
I checked the "Maximum Inactive Session Time" on the document in QVS:
1800 seconds, so 30 minutes, so does not explain time out after 5-10 minutes.
According to a document I found on the Partner / Qlik Support portal, the "Socket closed by client" would be the result of...
"user clicks "Close" button in top right of AJAX page OR the web server disconnects the session."
... but I am not using the web client, I am using the desktop with "Open in Server".
So I am looking for what (else) QlikView related could explain this effect (and how to fix that)?
And if not, what not QlikView related could explain this effect?
How about trying with a single upgraded Desktop (SR17) and checking if the disconnect is still happening? Only if the Desktop version you mentioned wasn't just a typo...
Thank you for the suggestion, Peter.
The SR difference is/was not a typo and I had not tested that yet. I now had the chance to test it a few times; both server and QV Desktop on 11.20 SR17. The result is the same; a DC after (little over) 5 minutes.
So my DC is (still) happening every time I use the QV Desktop after being passive for 5 minutes.
