My work is not being saved - lost it 3 times

Hi,

I'm editing my application on the cloud - trying to add new sheet on the existing app.  as what i have understood, if i work on the application directly from the cloud, the cloud automatically saves my progress as there is no save button available.

After clicking on the 'done' button, i closed my app.  But when i log back in, the sheet that i just created is gone.  i tried to login using another browser but the sheet is empty.  Deleted all cookies and cashed items, but still face the same error.

I created the sheet again but when i checked back in after a couple of days again the sheet is gone.

Here are screenshots below.

Hi,

Just tried it here (end-user - visualization part and back-end for data changes) and it's working just fine for me.

Try contacting someone from Qlik, maybe mto‌ can help you out with it or create a ticket for it on the Qlik.com support page.

Hi Guys - sorry for the delay - this is being brought to my attention as I also have experienced something similar BUT when using Qlik Sense Enterprise no Qlik Sense Cloud. I am working with Qlik support to troubleshoot. In my situation - it only occurred once so far. I am bringing in jpk‌ on this. @Joe please take a look at this issue and please let us know if this is something you are aware of.

When applicable please mark the appropriate replies as CORRECT. This will help community members and Qlik Employees know which discussions have already been addressed and have a possible known solution. Hi,

This is a serious issue. Kindly do some thing. Recently I told to some of my colleagues that Qlik is a self service Bi and then after developing the charts they disappeared. I was embarrassed.

Hi Michael

Any updates on this issue?

My experience is that Qlik Cloud does not update the front-end after data is loaded and only sometimes save the script when you click save.

The automatic scheduled data refresh states that data has been refreshed but data is not refreshed when you open the app.

Connectors dissapear randomly from apps after they have been created.

I have experienced this many times now for many different apps.

For me it basically turns Qlik Cloud into a useless product as you cannot use it for neither development nor any business settings.

Is any update or fix on its way? Bcs this is a critical issue as we plan to share apps with customers.

Hello,

I apologize for the challenges you've seen from this issue. I've experienced them myself and know how frustrating it is.

Have you reported this issue to Customer Support? If no, I suggest you do since the number of reports around a given issue will help to appropriately set the level of urgency on a fix. If you have, I suggest you go back to them and ask them to escalate the severity. It does sound like a critical issue, so you should report it as such.

In the meantime, a workaround that I've found works well for me is to make sure you don't have multiple tabs open in your browser open to various elements of Qlik Sense Cloud Business (app overview, sheets, data manager, script editor). QSCB makes it easy to have a number of tabs open all related to a single app. The system appears to get "confused" in this scenario as to which version is the most current, and this causes issues. This is no replacement for a fix, but has a much better chance of preventing data loss.

Qlik enterprise works good but Cloud sucks, they should not release half baked cookie.

I have to make sure I do not exit the browser or app until I see the changes.

CLOUD doesn;t save changes instantly and I thought having no way to install extensions is painful in cloud until I found this issue.

I'm experiencing the same issue right now. Can't close the tabs at the risk of losing the work, and fear getting a session timeout and being logged out.

My suspicion has been that it's a node sync issue, as the app opened on a specific node when I started editing. Going back to the hub and opening the app again just yields /edit/{app_id} without any specific node.

In any case, this just needs to work.

I can't export the app either to save my work, saving the app will still save the old qvf. Frustration doesn't even begin to describe..

EDIT:

Don't know if this helps, but my user seems to be tied to us-east-1 while the app is on eu-west-1. The owner of the "newly edited" app isn't even the same format (it has dashes in it) as the owner of the app that you get when you open the app from the hub (that contains the "old version").

Sometimes when opening the app it opens on a specific node with a certain owner and app-id that doesn't correspond to the app-id or owner that is displayed when going back to the hub. Or maybe the system creates a session app on one server and then syncs it to a server that holds persistent qvf's?

All I'm trying to figure out right now is a quick way to download the app from the specific node that it opened the app with (much like https://eu.qlikcloud.com/api/v1/apps/{appId}/data on the non-node url's). This would be a quick save/win for all of us having a problems as we could at least backup our work before closing all tabs. So far no luck..

Well, finally tried to delete the app from the hub. Don't try this at home..

The app on "the other node" that I was working on is still fully functional even though I deleted the app from the hub. Unfortunately it still doesn't sync when I save the app on "the other node".

Jonas,

Thanks for this insight on the us-east vs. eu-west nodes in use. This may be useful in solving the problem.
