Restoring an app in Qlik Sense

Hello,

Can somebody describe how exactly an app can be restored from a backup?

In the Qlik documentation this is not mentioned (only whole site recovery is described).

I am aware that you can restore the binary app, rename it to a .qvf file and import it, but in that case you loose the user sheets (they become all base sheets).

There must be a way to restore an app from a few days ago exactly as it was when taking the backup (meaning, keeping all users & community sheets), but I can't find...

Hi,

AFAIK The application recovery is done using the way you described (Rename app to qvf and import in QMC), but you can assign the personal sheets to the user who created them so it won't appear under "Base Sheets".

In QMC - > App Objects, Double Click on the sheet name and then change the owner.

Next time you open the application you'll see the separation (Base sheets and My sheets).
