Detach work with today() ?

Just want to check, if i have a chart that is detached, and in the formula, i am using function like today(), will it still work ?

if u add before detach it will work otherwise not

How about, i wanted to get a month range, says last Aug 2010 - Aug 2011 months, so i fixed everything nicely now.

and what will happen to the chart in new month? says september? will it still update accordingly to Sept 2010 - Sept 2011 ?
