If there is no group of fields, from which you have selected a specific field, then what could such a function possibly return?  I guess I don't understand the question.

The dimension like what is done in the group.

Still Didnt get your problem. Can you please explain more in detail.

If you want to display the name of the dimension. You say, Name of dimension like  = 'Dimension1' (i.e.) = 'Year'.

This will display the name of the dimension as Year.
