Dear All,

Is it possible to lease a licence on a desktop when the QlikView Server is not in Domain/Workgroup

but the server is on Public IP.

Hi,

Open qlikview desktop.

Go to file open in  server.

In server name field type the server name as qvp://username@ServerIP

use alternate identity.

Then it will prompt you for password.

Enter your password and then license leasing is done.

user name must be a named user cal and server ip must be the dynamic ip with which you access your qlikviewserver.

Also see the image attached.

Hope it helps.

In addition to what ashfaq said, port 4747 must be open between client and server.  QVP = port 4747.

Best thing to do is set this up in the Users Preferences/Locations.
