Protocol between Desktop client and server

I find anywhere the name of protocol between Server and Desktop client.

Is it based on TCP ?

Here's an excerpt from the QlikView Server Reference Manual...

Protocol:  QlikView Protocol (QVP)

Description:  Encrypted, binary, and TCP-based; communicates directly with QVS on port 4747.
