Administration in QlikView

Could anyone please tell me how to handle the administration in qlikview. Thats how we can create users and give them rights.

Hi,

Basically, you have two options: use an actual security directory as Tivoli or Active Directory, or use a custom directory in QlikView where you manually add each user and password, and create groups accordingly.

In both cases, you can authorize users or groups in any existing Directory Service Connector to grant or deny access to a document.

It all depends on how your IT infrastructure works and how QlikView is going to be deployed.

Hi,

Just to clarify, reduce all the above to the following: you either use OS users or you can use QlikView to manage security. The latter is not recommended with 20 users or more, because QlikView stores ciphered information in one XML file that must be checked each time a user makes a request, requiring access to the file.
