The .qvw file is the actual QlikView application.

The .shared file is used by the QlikView server to host all collaboration objects and server bookmarks

The .meta file contains metadata such as document category for accesspoint etc.

Can you view the contents of a shared file.  We have users who create reports and they share them.  Sometimes they complain that they "lose" them.  Is this where you would find them?

Hi,

Yes the .shared file contains all the collaboration object details.

These collaboration objects are the ones that the end end users have created using the Access Point (maybe charts, modifications, server bookmarks, etc.). If this file .shared file is deleted or corrupted, the users may loose all their collaboration object details.

Thanks,

Robinson

Try use the software Power Tools.

Included in the Power Tools

SharedFileViewer

Provides insight into the QlikView Server .shared files belonging to .qvw documents. The .shared file stores server data such as server/shared bookmarks, server objects (charts and objects created by a client via the server), annotations and other data that is specific to the document. The tool visualizes the content of the binary .shared file and provides options to "Repair" legacy files, as well as defrag large .shared files.

The shared file also contains anything stored in input fields.
