How to set your own server as qlikview server

Hello, does anybody happen to know how to configure your own web server to view qvw files from the QVW iPad app?

You'll need a QV server to do this, which requires a license.

You may want to contact a QlikTech partner of your choice or QT directly to determine the license that's appropriate for you.

After acquiring the appropriate license, you'll get a complete setup and configuration manual from the download section.

Hi swuehl, i'm afraid i cannot incurr in any costs, therefore licensing is not an option...350€ is not worth it.

I have my own server, can i put my qvw files there and see them from my iPad app?

Hi Borja,

The short answer is no, you cannot. You need, as Stefan points out above, to purchase the corresponding Server license in order to see your QlikView documents. The QlikView iOS App works with existing, licensed QlikView servers. Apart from that, you can use the QlikView WebServer or IIS, it will work just fine.

I has to be any way to see if the ipad app is worth it or not without spending € in licensing and taxing, which seems to be.

Many thanks again, I'm sure i will find a solution in other forums...or take a chance with Tableau or other similar software within the market.

The iOS app is free to download, and there is the demo site with many working applications you can use to check whether or not QlikView works as you expected.

Contact your QlikView sales rep in order to make him show you how server works, and answer your questions more accurately to fit your needs. In all cases, there is no such thing as "Personal Edition" for QlikView Server, other than the above.
