Distribution Service and QVS on different computers?

    Anders Eriksson

Hi, for performance reasons I would like to put the reload (Distribution Service) and QVS/QVWS on different computers.

Is this possible with a standard SBE license (no clustering)?

Additional question, if QVS and Distribution Service are on different computers where is the best location for the user qvw-files?

On computer hosting the QVS/QWVS or on computer hosting Distribution Service?

          I'm looking for a backend/frontend scenario.

Anders, your source QVW documents would normally be located on the server hosting the Distribution Service. The Distribution Service then reloads those documents according to it's scheduled tasks and distributes the resulting up to date QVW to the server hosting the QlikView Server service.

The QlikView Servre service is then able to respond to user requests to view the finished, reloaded documents.

Thanks for the answer but that's not exactly how it works in SBE.

The Distributon Service does not distribute any files to other locations, it only reloads documents in place.

Applications are built using ETL, extract and transform are obviusly located on same computer as Distribution Service but what about the applications in load?

I think it might be better having the load applications on the same computer as the QVS.

But my original question is still unanswered, can Distribution Service and QVS be located on different computers when using SBE version?

If not the second question is void.
