QVplugin 11, not installing / available as option on access point

Hi All,

This is probably a really really stupid question... however....

I've just tried to install the QVplugin on my local machine, I did have 9 installed but I removed it and took the 11 exe from our server.

When I run this, it installs QVpluginsetup which is visible in control panel. I was expecting just to see QVplugin in there as per the version 9, not with 'setup' attached to it as this implies there is further setup required?

When I go to the access point, I am only getting the full browser option, the plugin is not an option there....

I had forgotten about this, the answer was that the old installer had nothing in the plugin folder at all.

I downloaded a newer version of the v11 installer and it worked as expected

Ask you  QV admin to enable IE plugin option for the document.

Hi There,

I am the QV admin and the IE plugin is the default on all of our documents.

If I re-install the version 9 plugin, everything performs fine

Hi,

Sometime the users are facing this kind of problem due to:-

1. The previous version of plgin is not uninstalled completely (Uninstall the plugin version installed in your system , using control panal, sometime you will see two plugin is installed , so remove both).
2.Install the new version.

3. If the probe still continue then you need to unistall the Qlikvew client and reinstall both plugin and client again.

Thanks,

D J

hi,

Yes it sems that there is somthing wrong with the instaler. Kindly try to download the setup again and install it.

1. Extract the .msi file from the installer .exe file. Install the plugin via the .exe installer and then do a search for QvPluginSetup.msi The file should be located somewhere in the file directory.

Thanks,

D J

Hi DJ,

If I pick up the MSI from

C:\Users\daviea0r\AppData\Local\QlikTech Installations\{BDA9BC4B-04F3-4F3E-8C68-B48FFEECF99D}

Then I get exactly the same installer with the same issues.

Is it possible to download just the plugin installer from Qlikview now? I thought since v9 it was only distributed as part of the server download & install?

Hi,

I am not sure wehter it is present in the Qlikview site or not. But if you have accesspoint age then the link should be present there and you can download from there.

Please try :- After installation of plgin kindly try to register the .dll (there will be two .dl file) file by executing fllowing script in command prompt.

Thanks,

D J

Hi,

Please also taking consideration about the issue of Microsoft Installer where QV Plugin require newer version of MS Installer to work correctly.
