Monthly variance

Good day all,

i would like to ask as to how do i go about creatineg in a table, a variance
column,so that i can compare figures for Jan and feb to see the variance in the variance column and this calumn must be in one position

at all times. For example, Jan 2000 cupcakes sold, Feb 2200, March 1780.

I want to be able to show the variance between Feb and Jan. Also between Jan and March etc.
