I have try to create chart with variable extension , i get incomplete visualization error msg

Hi All

I download the variable extension from below web site :-

Then i unzip into extension folder of my note book.

Then i move the extension icon to sheet. and set to button. and add 2 alternative :-

I create 2 var ,

one is value =1 company

another is value =2 sEG

Now i go ahead to create a bar chart.

I add dimension :-

[Pick(Match($(Var),1,2),company,sEG)]

I add measure :- sum(sals)

My create got error massage , incomplete visualization.

Hope some can advise me where i go wrong ?

Hi All

I for got to mentioned , i when i drag the variable icon to sheet , i name the var name = Var.

Enclosed is my QVF file.

I also forgot to mentioned that  , in 2016 i have did the same it work , that is during ver 2 Qlik it work fine.

since now Qlik Sense ver 3.1 , it not work. So i need to start all over again. as it is not working , due to ver 3.1 remove some API.

I downloaded the latest version of the qsVariable  extension and that all looks ok and works fine against the latest version of Qlik Sense.

But there were other issues in your qvf though

• The variable needs to be created as the extension does not auto create it
• The expression for the Dimension in your Bar Chart is invalid

I have attached a revised version of your qvf, it now:

• Has variable Var created and assigned a default value of company
• Assigns the Dimension names to the variable as opposed to the 1 , 2 indicator
• The Dimension expression then simply becomes =[$(Var)]

Hi Bill

Now i have a issue . your QVF is working fine . i can create new chart and table using the QVF file you send me.

But then when i create a QS Variable using my new QVF file , it does not work.

So I think the issue should be the QS Variable Extension i download is wrong. Kindly give me the link to down load pls.

In case the link is correct , i thank the way i have wrongly install the extension. May i know it is i should install at below folder :-

C:\Users\Paul Yeo\Documents\Qlik\Sense\Extensions

If the folder is correct , i thank my issue i don't know how to create the variable = var 

What i did is i drag the QSVariable to sheet :-

After i insert the QS Variable , what i did is i create Var field.

After I add the word Var at Variable section . then i Add alternative variable.

I change the Render as to Button. Then add alternative appear.

Then i Add alternative for Value =sEG and Value = sEG .

My issue is the button when i run and click it does not turn the color to green. See the image below :-

can you advise me what step i miss ? where i go wrong here ?

Have you created the variable ?

You can do it either in the load script of the GUI ?

Many thank , it work fine now. I must said that , if this thing cannot work , it is same like part of my body unable to function.
