Failing to import QlikView document in QlikView to QS converter

Failing to import QlikView document in QlikView to QS converter

This article - QlikView Converter Error "Conversion service error - Failed to import QlikView document" says,

Sometimes the creation of a new QlikView converter project fails due to data in the QlikView document that cannot be read into Qlik Sense. You could try to open the App without data.

Opening the app without the data works fine. But, what is the reason behind it? why the conversion is getting failed with data?

We have done some further analysis and found one particular table(Project) in the data model has a few columns (Description, Objective, "In Scope", "Problem Statement") whose column length value is very high in the range (200-700). After dropping those columns from the table we tried converting it and it was successful.

So I wanted to confirm if there is any limitation on the column length size for the conversion and how to tackle this kind of scenario apart from converting the app without data. I did not see any limitations mentioned here:

Perhaps the QVW is corrupted.

Try exporting QlikView charts which contain the long field values to an Excel. (right click and export to excel).

If it fails then the data or the QVW may be corrupted.
