Moodle & H5P Connectivity

To Whom it May Concern,

I hope this finds you well and in good health. My colleague and I would like to be able to collect and analyze the data generated by xAPI on our platform. We are using Moodle and a plugin called H5P. Both entities are able to create xAPI statements but our concern is how to collect this data. From my understanding an LRS is needed to handle xAPI statements but I am wondering if there is another way to connect this data source to Qlik Sense. Thank you very much for your support.

Best,

Mohammed

Hey Mohammed,

I had never heard of Moodle before, but as far as I understood, it is a web application. Usually, web apps have APIs available for you to do some kind of integration, including data download and upload. This is because the software vendor will not allow you to have direct access to the database.

Qlik Sense has the Rest Connector which you can use to connect to these web APIs.

A quick google seach for "moodle rest API" returned this page: https://docs.moodle.org/dev/Web_service_API_functions. Probably you will be able to use the APIs for Moodle and pull data using the Rest connector.

Hope this helps.
