The following are steps to view the effective permissions on a file or folder including network shares:
Note: The example below is for a qvw file. However, the file or Folder (including network shares) being verified can be for any Qlik Products (e.g: .qvw, .qvf, .tshared, .qvd, .xlsx, etc) for which permissions at the User or Service level needs to be confirmed.
Environment:
- Qlik Products
1- Right-clic on the file and select Properties
2- Navigate to Security tab
3- On Windows 2008, select the Effective Permissions tab
4- Click on Select and choose your user
5- Windows display now the Effective Permission for this user on this file.
6- On Windows 2012, click on Select a user, and choose the user
7- Windows displays now the Effective Permissions for this user on this file.
NOTE: If you're checking Effective Permissions for a UNC path, it's best to check on the machine hosting the actual file
