How to manage the Certificate Private Key

In order for Qlik products to function with a certificate, the service account will need access to the certificate's private key. If the user is not an administrator or has restrictive permissions applied, this may not be possible by default. 



  1. Open the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) with an administrative user.
  2. Navigate to File and Add/Remove Snap-in

  3. From the available snap-ins list, select Certificates, click Add, and select Computer Account. Leave all other selections default and click Finish.
  4. Open the Certificate store, navigate to Personal > Certificates
  5. Right click on the certificate you want to manage the private key for, select All Tasks > Manage Private Keys...

  6. In the permissions window, add the correct user and give it access.
