For Qlik products to function with a certificate, the service account must access the certificate's private key. If the user is not an administrator or has restrictive permissions applied, this may not be possible by default.

Resolution:

  1. Open the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) with an administrative user.
  2. Navigate to File and Add/Remove Snap-in

    add remove snapin.png

  3. From the available snap-ins list, select Certificates, click Add, and select Computer Account. Leave all other selections default and click Finish.
  4. Open the Certificate store, navigate to Personal > Certificates
  5. Right click on the certificate you want to manage the private key for, select All Tasks > Manage Private Keys...

    manage private keys.png
  6. In the permissions window, add the correct user and give it access.
