Qlik Sense Printing Service might not start after applying Aug 2021 releases like the below:

"Access is denied" is shown if you try to start.

Resolution

Qlik Sense Printing Service needs modified configuration files to start after applying SR5 or later releases in Aug 2021.

Qlik Sense Enterprise on Windows - August 2021 IR ... - Qlik Community - 1835974 provides manual upgrade instructions, Upgrade instructions - Manual steps .docx.  

Follow the steps in the instruction. 

  1. Stop the printing service on all affected Qlik Sense nodes
  2. Take a backup copy of Printing.exe.config and Qlik.Sense.Printing.dll.config These files are located at C:\Program Files\Qlik\Sense\Printing
  3. Modify them by following the instruction
  4. Start the printing service
