Analyzer User cannot create Sheets. What about Self-Service?

Hi guys,

this is question regarding capabilities of the Analyzer User license. We are going to switch from Tokens to Subscriptions.

And now we got hit by the information, that Analyzer User cannot create sheets. Our self-service concept for the whole organisation is depending on this capability.

This is the concept of Self-Service - at least for us. Should we have department with sheet developers now?

Do we need Professional Licenses for all users having Sheets now? Is there difference of a developer of apps and an Analyst(!) who is build a sheet now? What happens to existing user sheets when we activate the license?

Has anybody similar experiences? Any solution?

Thanks for opinions.

Hi @berndjaegle,

The analyzer access is intended for users who consume sheets and apps created by others. A user with analyzer access cannot create, edit, or publish sheets or apps, but can create and publish stories, bookmarks and snapshots based on data in apps.

In your case, Developers or user who builds an App should be assigned to Professional License as it is intended for users who need access to all features in a Qlik Sense installation. A user with professional access can create, edit, and publish sheets or apps, and make full use of the available features, including administration of a Qlik Sense site.

Please refer the below helpsite documents to know the difference between Professional and Analyzer Access

Access assignment

Also, please note that server need license allocation from the scratch when switching from Token based license to Professional.

Hi @Deeksha_JayaSapalya , thanks for the confirmation. But it is not satisfying at all. This is not self-service anymore - as Qlik propagated for years. The screenshot is from Qlik official website. How can users "add content to apps" when they cannot even add a sheet? In this definition then every user needs a Professional License.

What is the intention of having Master items? Why do I create master KPIs and dimensions, when every user needs to be a professional (=developer)?

What happens to objects (sheets) which get migrated with the Repository and the owner will be assigned a analyzer. Will the sheets all disappear? Will they be shown as read-only? Will the objects show again, when the user is assigned a professional license? This questions are very serious for our migration path.
