How to get into Qlik Sense Desktop

Hi,

I installed QSD on my laptop and get the authentication from QSEoW successfully.

Then whenever I try to login the QSD, then, as you can see below, it's just login to small QSE hub within QSD.

Is there anybody who is describing what's happening on my environment and how to get in to the QSD correctly

Hi @ifw,

Installing them on the same machine is not really something we recommand, it does not make Sense and it's not even possible in a Production scenario.

If you're running a Windows Server environment then the Qlik Sense Desktop installer won't work.

Running a Windows client os (7,8,10) then yes, both can be installed on 1 system.

If Qlik Sense desktop is opening QLik Sense on premise, it's not normal, it could be several factor (like old vesion or different version between QSEOW and QSD). I've just tried with Qlik Sense Feb 2023 and Qlik Sense Desktop Feb 2023 and it's working well.

Regards,
Benoit

Hi @ifw

I have seen that happen once or twice on my machine, but it cleared itself up by itself on a subsequent attempt.

If it doesn't go away though, you can start Qlik Sense Desktop and then connect to that in your browser.

Just go to: http://localhost:4848/hub/

Hope that helps.

Hello @ifw,

It also can be caused by the screen setting.

There is an article about it:

Thank you for your replies.

While I was following up the solution you suggested, I found the following post which is describing that Qlik Sense Desktop cant not be installed on the same machine in which Qlik Sense Enterprise has been already installed.

Could you please confirm it? Is that why, right after authentication, it logged into Qlik Sense Enterprise Hub rather than Qlik Sense Desktop hub? Is there any alternative that I install both Enterprise and Desktop on my single laptop?

Thanks in advance,

Sean

I got it.

As you mentioned, I have QSE May 2022 installed on my laptop and I tried to install QSD Feb 2023 P4 on the same laptop. It's the clue.

I need to upgrade my QSE to Feb 2023 first, then I will try it again.

Thank you for your help.
