Qlik Sense Enterprise Disaster Recovery Plan

Hi All,

I am looking for Disaster Recovery Plan for my Multinode Qliksense Enterprise environment. I have one Central Node and one Rim Node.

Please suggest.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

A project called Qlik Sense Admin Playbook was initialized a few years ago. Maybe you can start here to write your DRP.

https://adminplaybook.qlik-poc.com/docs/system_planning/plan_disaster_recovery.html
You can go to the documentation about backup and restore to another serveur:
https://help.qlik.com/en-US/sense-admin/February2024/Subsystems/DeployAdministerQSE/Content/Sense_De...

Abstract is:
1. Backup your Qlik Sense certificates
2. Backup the Repository Databse
3. Backup the QlikFileShare where the apps are stored
4. Backup your Data and QVDs
In case of desaster:
1. Restore certificates
2. Install same Qlik Sense version on the new Central Node
3. Restore Repository Database
4. Restore Apps in the new Qlik Files Share
5. Run the Qlik Sense Repository in Bootstrap, Standalone, Restorehostname mode.
6. Install Qlik Sense on RIM nodes
7. Redistribute RIM nodes.

You can simply save the VMs and restore it.

You need to perform a test at least 1 a year to ensure the reactivy of DRP. (Like training to change a tyre)

Hi,

Is it require to create a Duplicate server, as I read in this link

Plan Disaster Recovery - qs-admin-playbook (qlik-poc.com)

We need to create a Replicate server. Is it correct?

No it's not, except if you need to garantee an uptime of 99.9%

By my experience, in a case of a Central and a RIM node, 0.25 to 0.5 day should be great to make Qlik Sense available again.
