Publish a Qlik Application Automation to either Shared or Managed Space

Hello,

I have created couple of "Qlik Application Automation" Apps within Qlik Sense SaaS environment.

I would like to publish them to either Shared or Managed Space. Having tried various possible ways to publish them, there doesn't seem to be a way to achieve this requirement. I am a Tenant Admin (full privileges) on the Qlik Sense Cloud (SaaS).

Requesting help from the Community.

TIA.

Hello @mkm7460, oh, yes, I do now understand your scenario, sorry about that! I am afraid this cannot be achieved for now according to our Help Page: https://help.qlik.com/en-US/cloud-services/Subsystems/Hub/Content/Sense_Hub/Admin/mc-managing-automa... You can change owner and so on but not share the automation in a managed space. Thanks a lot for clarification 🙂

Hello Patricia,

Thanks for responding.

On the right properties pane, for "App ID", I was unable to populate it with the Automation's ID (where you've got "TestAutomationPublis". I could neither lookup the automation or enter its ID and get it to run successfully.

Following error is thrown when I manually enter the automation's ID.

{
"error": "Error calling endpoint \"Qlik Cloud Services - Get App\"",
"endpoint": {
"name": "Get App",
"datasource": "Qlik Cloud Services"
},
"request": {
"url": "https://{domain}/api/v1/apps/(AutomationAppID)",
"method": "GET"
},
"response": {
"status": 404
},
"external error": true
}

Please let me know how you got it to detect the ID of the Automation App.

Thanks a lot.

Hello @mkm7460, you are very welcome. What I did in my case is just use the lookup from the right-hand side:

You can also find any app ID by opening the app and checking the URL: https://YOURTENANTNAME.eu.qlikcloud.com/sense/app/c74fe620-35e0-4b39-b1e6-4ff29ca3e1bc

Please let me know if that is what you needed to achieve 🙂

Hello Patricia,

This is for publishing a traditional App (where we create sheets and visualizations within) but my question is for publishing an Automation App which we create to perform certain tasks like task chaining a reload, etc.

Hello @mkm7460, I am not entirely sure I am getting your scenario, could you please provide further details on what exactly you want to achieve? I will try to help you 🙂

Hello Patricia,

I have developed an automation (On the Top Right of Qlik Home Page (HUB)-->Add New --> "New Automation") which performs task chaining. (Please see attached Screenshot)

My requirement - I would like to publish this automation to either of Managed or Shared Spaces, which my teammates can use.

Note: This is NOT a Dashboard App containing sheets and visualizations.

Hope this is helpful for you to understand. Please let me know.

Thanks.
