Hello,
I currently have a publish task that simply sends an email with a generic message plus a variable (which contains say Max(Date) of a fact table). This is chained after a successful reload of the main application.
The problem is the contents of this variable in the email that gets sent out doesn't change, despite the main application having a new and updated Max(Date). However if I go to the Connections tab and reload the metadata of the app, and then run the publish task again, the variable in the email gets changed/updated.
So my question is: do I have to reload the metadata of the app after every reload? Or am I doing something wrong.
(I am running Qlik NPrinting April 2019 version with QlikView 12)
If you use local connection to qlikview file then you must reload metadata in order to make sure that data gets refreshed.
The recommended server connection (qvp) does not require metadata refresh
this is well documented in help document and on community.
