Qlik Nprinting Failed to send email for user error

Hi All,

We are facing an issue in Nprinting mailing where the task status shows warning and mails are not sent to users.

The error message we receive is :

Failed to send email for user 'XYZ' {App ID}. ERROR: 4.4.2 Message submission rate for this client has exceeded the configured limit.

We have checked the same at our SMTP server and there are no logs of these emails being received at the server end.

Also, there is no messaging limit set for any user and the same task gets executed after a few attempts.

This issue is encountered randomly and is not consistent for a single task, any task fails at random intervals.

Thanks in advance.

Please lookup the actual error "ERROR: 4.4.2 Message submission rate for this client has exceeded the configured limit" in google.

for example: LINK

You will see that this is not NPrinting error and that it is linked to exchange mail server. That is where your problem sits and there is not much in NPrinting you can do about it.

cheers

Other considerations:

Email not sent if:

Clustered email server:

  • If the email server is a cluster node ie: NETSCALAR, you must point to a single cluster node in the cluster and not the primary cluster address to ensure email delivery works as expected

Many SMTP servers have anti-spam rules. Check the following on the target SMTP server:

  • add the NP sender to a white list
  • add the NP server IP address to a white list
  • If there is a limited amount of email messages that is possible to send in a specific amount of time, this value will need to be increased on the SMTP server
  • Check the maximum number of allowed messages parameters. This value must be increased if these parameters are throttling with a maximum allowable messages limit
  • Check the maximum allowed message size parameters. If there is an attachment size limit, this may need to be increased on your email server to accommodate the size of the NP files being generated and delivered.
  • Check that the SMTP server for any other anti-spam settings that may be throttling messages coming from the NP server
  • Check that the SMTP server is allowing 'relaying' of emails from the NP server
