QMC - tasks are running but the status does not change

Hi!

I have had the following problem in the QMC for a short time.

The task status in the QMC is no longer updated. The tasks are running, but nothing changes in the QMC (no green arrow). In the task details -> task history, however, the status of the task is correctly displayed as "running".

Every task has the status "Waiting" and "Last Execution" is always "Never".

Server restart has no effect.
Restarting the QlikView services has no effect

Any idea?

regards, Sebastian

Hi @sebastianQlik,

The symptoms you are describing are typically due to communication interruption issues between QlikView Management Service (QMS) and QlikView Distribution Service (QDS) and the QDS workorder not being successfully shared between the two services.

What version of QlikView Server/Publisher are you running?

If version 11.20 or 12.10, suggest that you change the QMS Chunk Size and MaxReceivedMessage values in %ProgramFiles%\QlikView\ManagementService\QVManagementService.exe.config as detailed in article The QlikView Management Console displays “Cluster is down” and the status of all tasks is listed as ...".  Then you should upgrade to a currently supported version - 12.50 or 12.60.

If version is 12.20 or later, suggest that you start by reviewing the attached Qlik whitepaper Clustering QlikView Publisher.pdf .  Also, set QMS logging to debug level and review it for errors and/or warnings.  These issues can be difficult to work through, so suggest that you open a case with Qlik Support.  Note that to engage with Support, you'll need to be running a supported version - 12.40, 12.50, or 12.60.
