Using the publisher or NPrinting you could configure most parts of your tasks (which object(s) in which format with which selections to which receiver and when) whereby you would need with macros to program everything by yourself (and you will need mandatory a desktop client within your server-environment to execute the macros). Especially the triggerung of the tasks and a possible error-handling are not always trivial.
With just a few emails it seemed to expensive to buy the publisher/NPrinting but if your amount of exports/prints and emailing them grows it will look different.
