What's the best method to avoid synthetic keys when you have multiple tables with different amount of key fields?
For example, I have 3 tables. One with 6 key fields; one with 4 key fields; one with 3 fields. I need table 2 to figure out the cost for the shipment orders but I also need table 2 to figure out what other options are available for the product from the source to the destination.
Table 1 |
---|
Version |
Snapshot Week |
Calendar Week |
Product |
Source |
Destination |
Shipment orders |
Table 2 |
---|
Version |
Product |
Source |
Destination |
Shipping Cost |
Producing Cost |
Table 3 |
---|
Version |
Source |
Destination |
Transport Type |
is there a reason to avoid syn keys in your data model?
