ARCHIVE and CREATE table: Presently this functionality is not available for BQ and GCS. Similar to Hadoop this  should be available for BQ and GCS.

A copy of the existing table will be saved to the same schema before the new table is created. The archived table name will be appended with a timestamp, indicating when the archiving operation occurred. This is present only for Hadoop. Same functionality should be available for BQ and GCS.

This is a valid request, certainly for a full re-load.  Initially BQ did not support RENAME for a table. (It now does now) (ALTER TABLE mydataset.mytable  RENAME TO mynewtable; ). We will add this specific support to our GBG enhancement RM.
