Allow ability to create sub-workflows to add to a master workflow in Compose
Compose should provide the option to nest workflows. We have very long and complicated workflows and it would be a lot easier to maintain if we could break them into sub-workflows that we can then add to a master workflow.
Hi @jtompkins - have you considered using Command tasks to support this?
While not as ideal as a productized "Execute Workflow" feature - customers are using this today to support execution of "sub-workflows". This can also be used to support synchronous or asynch execution of workflows.
Configure a command task to execute the composecli run_task - each command task would pass through the workflow to execute and can then be used to organize workflows with smaller units of work as you are suggesting.
We have considered it, but would prefer it to be an option in the GUI, as we believe this would be more intuitive and less error prone. We were used to this functionality in Oracle Warehouse Builder.
