Latest update as of Feb. 15, 2022. All current threats have been addressed.

Further updates will be made as new information becomes available.

Qlik has been diligently reviewing and testing our product suite since we’ve become aware of the Apache Log4j vulnerability mid-December.  We want to ensure Qlik users that your security is our upmost priority. We have addressed multiple vulnerabilities through a series of product patches for supported affected versions and we recommend you update to the most recent releases available, shown in the chart below.

Log4j versions before v2.16 presented the highest threat and all exposed Qlik products have provided patches with at least v2.16 and will all be updated to v2.17.1 or later under the regular release schedule as we are not vulnerable to the CVEs related to 2.17.0

We’d like to direct you to our FAQ document to review should you have any further questions, and we encourage you to comment with any additional questions.

Hello @ayandeepdas ,

Reg:

For QEM once we put the patches for version 7 do we need to change anything for Python API connector. I did not see any updates in release notes.

No. There should be no changes in Python APIs between the 2 minor builds.

Regards,

John.

Can you confirm patches for:

  • GeoAnalytics Server (4.27.3 -4.19.1)
  • Replicate 6.6
  • Compose for Data Warehouses 6.6

can be applied to existing versions without requiring a major version upgrade?

Thanks

Hello @AdamJohnson ,

Regarding your questions I'm focusing on QDI products part:

Can you confirm patches for:

  • GeoAnalytics Server (4.27.3 -4.19.1)
  • Replicate 6.6
  • Compose for Data Warehouses 6.6

can be applied to existing versions without requiring a major version upgrade?

Yes, you may apply log4j vulnerabilities fixes patch but stay at version 6.6 still. However please take note that the 6.6 will be expired at 30 Apr. See Replicate Product Lifecycle & Compose Product Lifecycle .

In my opinion it's time to start prepare the major versions upgrade.

About QDA part we need @PatrickQ help.

Regards,

John.

@AdamJohnson

GeoAnalytics Server (4.27.3 -4.19.1) are in the pipeline for a SR2 containing 2.17.1. They are planned to be released until mid February.

For the moment you have only GeoAnalytics Server - 4.19.1 - 4.27.3(February 2020 SR1 - May 2021 SR1) with log4j version 2.16.0

I updated the exact details which version will contain which log4j version in the GeoAnalytics log4j article https://community.qlik.com/t5/Knowledge/CVE-2021-44228-Handling-the-log4j-lookups-critical-vulnerabi...

best regards

Sebastian

@Sebastian_Linser thank you for your reply.

So, as today I have the 5.30.1 with August 2021. According with your link, I have

  • GeoAnalytics Plus - 5.29.4-5.30.1 (May 2021 SR2 - August 2021 SR1) - 2.16.0

Log4j 2.16.0.

This version has all the log4j bugs fixed?

Thank you, best regards.

Riccardo
