help with sorting in Pivot table

if you have sorted the table based on one expression then when you try to sort it again based on another expression then the first sorted one will be lost.

In pivot table interactive sort is not possible, you may try straight table or you can create buttons based on whose value you can follow a particular sorting.

Could you please explain more? if column style is sorted, you cannot have the columns sorted ascending as well.

Thank you for your reply... the reason i am restricted not to use straight table is because they want the partial sums  for each category. Not sure how we can get for straight table.

Remember that you can have subtotals into a straight table, ticking 'Total' into Dimension Limits tab
