Hello,
I am trying to create a connection using a web file. But I am unable to hit the URL in qliksense as every time I try to do that I get an unknown error, although I can access the URL through my browser. What could be the possible reasons for it?
Thanks in advance
Where are you doing this?
Maybe you could give us the full link so we could test it?
In the QlikSense desktop version 3.0
I am sorry, the full URL cannot be shared because that would breach the security. But I can give you some information.. On hitting the URL, it generates a XML file but it takes around 3-4 minutes to hit since it fetches humongous amount of data. So my first thought on this problem was that possibly the QlikSense session for creating the web connection gets timed out since it takes time to hit the URL. If this is the reason then, is there any alternative to increase the timeout?
You can create a data connection to select data from files residing on a web server, accessed by an URL address, typically in HTML or XML format.

Is your output format correct ?
Please check your output format , i have used HTML files and its output having Table output are directly getting mapped in Qliksense.
I am having the same problem where this was being done successfully in QlikView. Getting a csv using a simple URL which doesn't work in QlikSense. Error is same where it simply says unknown error. Anyone find a work around?
Not yet... I believe it has got something to do with the timeout. If we could increase the session timeout, maybe that would help but again how to do that in Desktop version is not known
Hi aishwarya_shetty,
Were you able to get some fix on this time out error.
Please share if you got it.
Best,
Hardik
Hi.. Aishwarya,
Please check are you followed below mentioned steps or not:
