hello Folks,
I created an OLE DB connection using data manager. My source server has changed name and ip address. how can I edit this previously created connection with new info? In data editor, the buttom edit connection is unselectable!
thanks
Ricardo Terada
Hi, not sure what's causing that problem, cause normally you could edit any connection. The only solution I can think of is to create a new connection and then delete the other one.
Hope it helps,
Andrés
Andres, thanks for your answer. see above my connection. Atera is the server's name. note that the edit buttom is light grey.
Maybe make a new connection and replace your LIB statement with new one?
Ex:
Once you make a new connection add a random table from that connection, copy the LIB script and replce it in your current view on the top.
If the view, fields are same it will run with no problems.
Hi,
If you go into the QMC and under Data Connection ther emight be some User Access / Security rules making it impossible for you to do this. I would start looking at that and see if that helps you.
Ali thanks for your answer. Is there QMC for Qlik Sense Desktop? Where do I find it?
Hi,
I didn't notice that is for QS Desktop. No there is no QMC for it...which version are you running? I haven't seen this before.
Did you add this data source through the data manager?
Under your tabs see if there is something similar to this (I think it is usually on top) called "Auto Generated Section:
1) Click the auto generated section
2) Click Unlock
3) See if it is not gray anymore the (the edit button).
That is the only suggestion I can come of at the moment since this is QS Desktop.
Do keep in mind tho that after you have unlocked this from the auto-generated section this can't be undone and oyu can't edit the data selection with the Data Manager.
qlik sense desktop 3.1 SR3 (qliksensedesktop:10.7.2)
Yes I added this data source through the data manager and yes unlocking makes it possible to edit, but I was trying to find another way since doing so, I can't edit the data selection with the Data Manager as you said.
