How to assigned a Document CAL & Named CAL to user?
Thanks in Advance..!!
Hi,
To assign Named CALs go to the QlikView Enterprise Management Console, System tab, "Licenses" menu, click on QlikView Server and on the right pane select "Client Access Licenses (CALs)" tab, Assigned. There you can specify in the form DOMAIN\USERNAME the users in your domain you want to have a Named CAL assigned to them.
To assign a Document CAL, go to the QEMC, Documents, click on the document you want the users to access, and on the right part you will see a tab "Document CALs". Likewise add your users in the form DOMAIN\USERNAME
Make sure you do not delete or rename files before removing the license assignments, or you may lose them. Note that in case you missed the username in favor of another username, you will have to wait 24 hours before change the assignment to the correct user.

thanks for the quick reply
Its really helpful.
and what if I have publisher license on DEV, not on PROD. In that case, does it affect??
Is it like we need to mentioned the "Number of CALs allocated to this Document" in while assigning ?
OR only providing user name is useful?
Please some one help me on this issue.
You will need one license per server. If you have two servers you need two server licenses.

If you want to assign three licenses to three people, you will need to set that to 3. Then assign in the Document CALs tab in the document the users in the form DOMAIN\USERNAME up to three (you will get an error otherwise).

Okay, we have 1 publisher license for both the server i.e. DEV & PROD
Yes, I need to provide access 3 users to 3 douments
Then you can run Publisher only in the DEV or in the PROD server, but not in both
