Is it there any way to install QV 11 and keep QV 10 to keep working?
I need to try the new version but I need to keep working in version 10.
It was possible in the step 9 to 10 just changing the installation directory.
Tanks in advance.
Yes there is, some people claims it's a bug but I disagree
For Desktop:
1. Install QV11 - It will prompt you to uninstall/upgrade QV10
2. Copy your version 11 qv.exe to a "safe" location like desktop and rename it to qv11.exe
3. Uninstall/Install QV10 on top of your installation again.
Now your default installation is qv10 and you can manually launch qv11 from the saved exe file.
I dont recommend that you do it the other way around, i.e saving the qv10.exe file and installing qv11 ontop since we then have to register QlikView.Application to your qv11 instance so macros and launching a qvw directly might start in qv11 instead of qv10 making everything very confusing
This was the same in qv9 to qv10 just that people probably diden't mess with our COM objects that much.
Hi Christian,
Try this;
1. Fresh install QlikView 11 on other machine.
2. Copy Qv.exe from fresh installation QV 11 and rename to Qv11.exe (like Alexander mention)
3. Paste this (Qv11.exe) to QV 10 installation directory.
