Parsing JSON in QlikView Desktop?

Hi,

I searched the docs but can't seem to find a straightforward solution for this.  I have some JSON string data stored in a database.  My SQL query will return this JSON data in a column and I can access this string data; but is there something in the desktop version equivalent to jQuery's parseJSON(<string to parse>), or do I have to parse this manually?

Thanks in advance for your help.

A lot of us want JSON to be read natively by Qlikview, and it simply doesn't support it out of the box.  So, you can try the following:

Two FYIs:

  • I've let my Qlikview account rep know that this is the biggest need in an otherwise great product
  • Chris Brain (who developed QVSource, a great 3rd-party API connector) indicated he may take a stab at integrating a JSON reader into a future version of QVSource

Good luck, futebol70

We have also added a solution for this now for our QVSource users: http://www.qvsource.com/wiki/General-Web-Connector-For-QlikView.ashx  Would be interested in any feedback as it's just the first version.
