QVS on a Domain Controller

Does anybody know where can I find the ZIP file mentioned in the Release Notes of SR3 build 7440:

It is no longer possible to install and run QVS on a Domain Controller. The Domain Controller has no local groups so the membership check described above will not work. As an interim solution, we have created a special build of the "QlikView Management Service" that can be run on a Domain Controller. It is available as a ZIP-file from the download site. Just replace the installed "Qlikview Management Service.exe" with the version included in the ZIP-file.

I looked through the Download site but did not find it. Thanks for your help!

This is not longer supported. There is no way to run QVS on a domain controller.

The newest version of SR3 (build 7440) was released today. With this new build you no longer need the zip file as the domain controller issue is fixed. The software is available on the download site.

Thanks Vlad,

I actually read that extract of the document from the Release Notes of build 7440, so I thought it was still the workaround I needed to follow.

So I will install the latest version (still downloading) and see if it works.

Thanks!

Did this work? I'm actually having the same problem when installing QlikView 10 server on a domain controller:

This is the error I get:
- Installing Qlikview Server on a domain controller is not supported.

According to the release notes for v10 (p4):

"It is not possible to install the QlikView Server on a domain controller."

Sorry I do not know if this will be available in upcoming SR or not.

Hi,

I´m working with qlikview Server 9.0 normally in a domain controller windows 2003 server 64bits.

I bought the renew license to 10.0 and now we´re having some problems to install it on a domain controller windows server 2003 64 bits.

The message is that is not possible to install it on a domain controller.

I so upset about this because the resale didn´t advise us about this change and even I couldn´t find anything about this on the user manual.

I think that Qliktech should just advise that is not recommended to work with qlikview on a domain controller, not just to remove it from the product, and the client decide if want to install or not on a domain controller.

So how can I do now? I just expended so much money with it and can´t use it. Will I have to buy another sever and another windows license just to qlikview? I think that qliktech should reconsider it.

Sorry for my poor English. I´m from Brazil.

Thanks

Anaisa

Emmanuelle,

Installing on a DC was only possible with v9, not with v10. As Bjorn mentioned, you can't installed QVS v10 on a DC at all.
