How do I use an expression in a bookmark?

Hi I would like to have a bookmark showing all orders after 1 jan 2013, for example. I've seen an example in the past where the bookmark was set like this

Field - OrderDate

Value - >01/01/2013

How do I put an expression against a field like this, so that I can use it in a bookmark?

You enter that expression in the search box of the OrderDate listbox (or in the Advanced Search) and then create the bookmark. The search string isn't saved in the bookmark, but the selection that is the result of the search string is.
