I found one whitepaper written by Microstrategy comparing Microstrategy 9 and Qlikview 11. (document MicroStrategy-9-vs-QlikTech-11.pdf attached here)
But I think it would be good to get the tool's comparison details from an independent source.
hi
both are the BI tools,
Qlikview-- work In memory.
work on OLTP
Inbuild ETL tool.
so qlikview is fast .
Microstrategies--
Work on OLAP cubes
take more time.
i think required ETL tool.
Im afraid it is not correct.
MicroStrategy also offers ROLAP and in memory engine similar to what QS offers (it is called Intelligent cubes). Even for MSTR9. MSTR works on any data source - relational/OLAP.
The real difference is in schema - MSTR supports semantic layer, QS does not. The advantage of QS is its associative engine and set analysis features. On the other hand MSTR offers way better governance and enterprise tools for automatization and standardization. MSTR is more like full featured enterprise BI platform, QS is more like Exploration visualization tool.
MSTR also offers write-back capability (in addition to "standard" etl features)...
