Is there any physical limitation on the number of points that can be plotted onto a map in Qlik Sense?
With extension-based solutions in QlikView 11, things get difficult when throwing large of amounts of points at the extension.
I'm hoping that the fact there is no extension involved would remove this limitation somewhat.

Brian

Hi Brian,
Yes, in QlikSense the mapping object has a limitation of 1000 data points (which is the same limitation the Qlik Sense Scatter Plot has). We are working hard to deliver a better experience when plotting a high umber of values, but for right now, that is the limitation.
Regrds,
Dan

Do you have a timeframe for when we can expect support for more than 1,000 points ?
Hi Geoff,
Right now we are working to implement a solution for the scatter plot as the first priority. We hope to have that soon. After that we will adapt that solution for the map object. Unfortunately that means that you won't likely see the map solution in the next release.

Thanks for fast response. That is great news as the 1,000 point limitation on maps is by far our biggest limitation in Qlik Sense to date
Hello Dan,
Is ther a way to know in a KPI box how many points are displayed on the map for a selection ?
Thanks
Hi Geoff, you might want to try IdevioMaps, it doesn't have a limit of points.
There is also a nice feature called "Select by visible" that enables of big (>M) datasets.

Hi Dan,
it has been very long. Is there any update on this.
It is very ridiculous limitation, specially when we talk about big data and buzz words like this.
Qlik Sense Map.
I map about 9500 cities in the Nordics.
Zooming in I can see Bubbles(Cities) are missing.
If I filter on ,for example Finland (1200 cities), I can see more bubbles(Cities) in the country
Is it still a limitation in Qlik?
Hi Dan,
The smart data compression is useful when you have two dimensions.
If you use an expression to color the bubbles, compression no longer allows you to see that color.
Do you plan to display more than 1000 points in the scatter plot ?
I work with Data scientists who really need this feature.
Thanks.
Paul
