What Does the "Timeout(s)" Option Do in Job Conductor?

Hi Community,

I'm currently exploring Talend Administration Center (TAC) to better understand its features, especially the Job Conductor section. While going through the Execution Task settings, I noticed there's a field called "Timeout(s)", and I'm curious about how it works.

Since I'm still learning and experimenting with TAC, I'd like to ask a few things:

  1. What exactly does the "Timeout(s)" setting control? Is it related to job execution duration, JobServer connection, or something else?

  2. What happens when the timeout value is reached? Will it stop the job or just throw a warning?

  3. Are there any typical values or best practices for this setting in test or production environments?

  4. If anyone has examples or documentation links, that would be super helpful!

Thanks in advance for any guidance. Just trying to build a stronger understanding of how TAC manages job executions

Cheers,

Azwar

Hello,

Timeout is a duration after which the task (or plan) will be killed by the TAC :

In the Timeout (s) field, type in how long to wait, in seconds, before the task is being killed, here it is 240 (4 minutes).

In the Timeout (s) field, type in, if necessary, how long to wait, in seconds, before the plan and its related tasks are killed by the server. The status of the plan is checked once a minute.

Kind regards
Denis
