Fellas / Mentors ,
I need to find average loss and gain in revenue for every one spot increase / decrease in Ranking by
a) Overall
b) Firm and Year
Trend_data:
AssetRevenue | Rank | QUARTER | YEAR | Firm | Revenue_Change | Rank_Change |
3000 | 8 | Q1 | 2018 | Lawson | 0 | 0 |
2000 | 10 | Q2 | 2018 | Lawson | -1000 | -2 |
10000 | 4 | Q3 | 2018 | Lawson | 8000 | 6 |
7000 | 6 | Q4 | 2018 | Lawson | -3000 | -2 |
2000 | 12 | Q1 | 2019 | Ericson | -5000 | -6 |
2000 | 11 | Q2 | 2019 | Ericson | 0 | 1 |
5000 | 5 | Q3 | 2019 | Ericson | -3000 | 6 |
1000 | 12 | Q4 | 2019 | Ericson | -4000 | -7 |
Output should tell me something like this :
For every dip in rank by one spot , xxxx amount of revenue is lost
Thank ya
@alina_qlik can you share the expected output from this sample ?
Thanks Taoifiq for respone .
Lehme narrate again
for Lawson in q1 2018 revenue was 3000 and rank was 8 and in q2 ranked changed to 10 , i.e dip by 2 spot along with revenue which took dip from 3000 to 2000 .
Hence for rank dip by 2 spot revenue dipped by 1000 - so we can mathematematically say that the average dip in revenue is 500 for every single dip in rank over first two quarter of '18 .
Now applying similar logic , wanna find average dip in revenue for every dip in rank by one spot when looking at over all data .
Being not great at school mathematics , i am not sure if that can be calculated
using
average dip in revenue for every dip in rank by one spot = sum(Revenue_Change)/sum( Rank_Change)
