Finding working with Qlik Sense coming from Qlikview immensely frustrating.
How do I stop this happening? It's just a bar chart inside a container. There's nothing fancy or bespoke about this, it's a really typical use case of the product, but the chart label insists on sitting outside the boundary of the container.
I'm 99% sure the answer is 'Qlik just renders it how it thinks is best, try making things a size you don't want them to be' but I'm hoping I'm wrong. (Incidentally, making the container a different size doesn't work).
I share your frustration moving from QlikView. I've been working with Sense now for 6 years and I'm still frustrated that some QlikView features are not (yet) available - like fine tuning your labels or legend.
I have one suggestion - the Qlik Sense formatting seems to work better if it has more space to work with, so if you adjust your browser's zoom (say 90%), then it will probably render properly.
Cheers, Barnaby.
Yeah, thanks. Sorry, this message is probably a little salty from me, but I'm just so sick of running into issues like this and feeling like I have no control to fix them.
The problem is that it's for a client with specific requirements regarding layout / size. I can't resize it due to the requirements, and while I can change the browser zoom on my pc we can't ask all the users to do that.
It's super frustrating because when you come out of edit mode, the chart within the container briefly resizes, from a sensible size where you can see everything well, to the current one that sits outside the border. So, y'know, it's clearly 'possible' for it to render nicely, just no option for me to tell it to do that.
The other feature you can play with is the sheet grid spacing: Wide or Narrow. See if you can give your visualisation a tiny bit more space to work with.
I guess this also depends on what screen size and zoom factors each user has - they could all be different. It's hard to guarantee the look and feel.
