Remove Nulls and /or blank values

I have a table where I want to remove Null and/or blank values in the script. I've used not IsNull(), field <> '' and len(trim(field))>0 and nothing works. I even checked the data in the table (see screenshot) and it appears to be null. I unchecked show null values in the table and they disappear. Does anyone know why the records would still appear?
