Send variable from FrontEnd

Hi dear community

I am facing a problem:

In my project, we want to get rid of the SSIS packages and move everything to Qlik. So far, so good, everything works, except:

We have a button(PUBLISH button) which, when the business has uploaded all the data for every month - clicks on the PUBLISH button, and when it is done, the data for that month gets the tag "Publish".
So, the business would like to keep the same logic, to click on the button when the data is ready, and get it published.

  1. The first solution I see is: to send a variable value, changed by the button, to a QVD/CSV file. But in that case, the file gets stored in no idea which location(on the server), and I am not sure how I can access it.
  2. The second solution which could work: store the variable value (from the view) into a QVD, via LOAD script, but I don't know how I can pass the value of a variable, from the Front-End to the Back-End. Do you think that is achievable?

What do you think about this potential solutions?
Is there anyway I could achieve some good results?

Thank you very much!

Best Regards,

Vadim.
